Our Congressional Oversight Records Database (CORD) held its first academic workshop in Detroit on July 18, 2024. The workshop was co-sponsored by the Brookings Institutions and the American Enterprise Institute marking an important milestone in our development of CORD with five academic papers piloting CORD data.
After the paper presentations, workshop participants heard from the Levin Center Research & Data Specialist, Grace Moore, on upcoming new database features and changes to the data methodology and metadata. The workshop concluded with a roundtable discussion moderated by CORD Academic Advisor, Professor Sean Theriault, on academics’ thoughts for improvements and future collections.
We can’t wait to release more datasets on CORD and see the incredible research ideas coming out of this new resource.
